4-6 inches my butt. We got over a foot of snow here. AND IT'S STILL SNOWING!!! I'm not going to work tomorrow. They called me today and said they canceled my shift. They were not very busy and most likely won't be busy tomorrow. I'll post some pictures later.

I don't even live in Dallas. I live in the general region. I really live in Red Oak which has gotten a foot of snow and more. It's craziness. Most of the day I am going to be outside with my family. I'll post some pictures soon. Actually, I was thinking of making a thread for it so we all can post our crazy snow days.
I hope everything will be alright tomorrow though. I have a gut feeling again and this one feels like something bad will happen. Unless it's the s'mores and roasted marshmellows I ate which I really hope it is. I hate it when I get a gut feeling. They are never any good. Or maybe it's the sad music I am listening to. Yeah, I think it's that.

You still win. And yes, we need a thread for this. Oh, I hate those nasty feelings... I just hope nothing really does happen.

Ok, so you guys remember that bad gut feeling I had. Yeah, it came true. We lost power Friday (hint hint why I haven't been on.) We just got it back this morning (hint hint why I am finally on ) We got 12 - 13 inches of snow. Our cars were totally buried and it took us two days to dig my dad's truck out. Friday night we all sat around a dinner tray and played Phase 10 and once again, my mom won. We also made hot chocolate and chili in our fireplace which wasn't so bad, it tasted ok but that smell was gross. Saturday, my parents finished shoveling all the snow out of the drive way and we went to the bank cause I still had a check to put into my account and so did my dad. Then we went IHOP to get some breakfast and it was so great to get some hot food. Then we went to Wal-Mart to get some more supplies. We had a little adventure there. A truck in the parking lot caught fire and it was chaos there. It took them forever to get the owner of the truck out there. We got what we needed then went home and got some laundry and other stuff and we headed over to my grandmothers house so we can take a hot shower and do some laundry. We also stopped by my work so I could get my paycheck and my schedule for next week. We finally got out power back this morning. I was so happy. It's fun to camp out, but I hated having to heat stuff over the fireplace. It made everything taste smoky and smell nasty. So happy to finally have internet back though!!!

Yay, you got internet! I'm kind of surprised you all lost power, does everyone I know have a weak power grid or are they just getting hit by odd occurrences all the time? Hey can you share your IHOP? Thanks. xD

The reason we lost power is because trees that still had leaves got weighted down with snow and hit our power lines and blew up the transformer.

Ouch. Transformers and tree parts don't get along. Neither do transformers and flying squirrels but I'll save that story for later. >_>

rofl all right, I'll tell you, it's so amazing.
So my parents told me that back when they were in college at the University of Connecticut, the power went out on a sunny day in Spring. Eventually people started gathering around a place, and there was a flying squirrel fried on the ground. It apparently glided right into the power line xDD
